How to root android M preview ? ( Solved )

Recently Android launched its new android version Android 6.0 Marshmallow's Preview. Users have got it on their Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 devices. Did you root you Android M Preview ?

If you’ve got your hands on the Android M (Android Marshmallow) Developer Preview 3 but haven’t rooted your device, we’ve got good news for you: it’s easy to do so now exclusively on ProTecher.

The initial step to begin with this process is to make backup of all the important files you need. Because rooting may wipe out all the data on your device. So most importantly first have the backup of all important data.

Requirements :

=> Android 6.0 running device ( Nexus 5 or Nexus 6 )

=> TWRP recovery for your device, which u can download from here.

=> Despair Factor’s kernel for your device, either the Nexus 5 or Nexus 6.

=> The SuperSU root package in the zip file format , which you’ll find right here.

Once you’ve got the files you need, you cant start with the process to root your Android 6.0 device. Copy the SuperSU package and the appropriate DespairFactor kernel on your Smartphones SD Card. The easiest way to do that is to connect your device to your PC and copy them in your SD Card.

 Steps :

=> On your PC, locate the TWRP.img file you downloaded from the above link and open the folder.

=> Press Shift + F10 in the opened folder. This opens an command prompt windows.

=> In the command prompt window type following commands one by one,

fast boot flash recovery TWRP.img (where TWRP.img is the filename of the TWRP file you downloaded).

Shortly you will recieve a message on the command prompt window. This is the confirmation that you have installed the recovery successfully.

=> The next step is to boot your phone into Recovery Mode. To do that, press the volume up, volume down and power buttons simultaneously.

When you see the options appear, use volume down to navigate to Recovery and the power button to confirm your choice. Your device should now boot into the TWRP recovery mode.

( Do not forget to make the backup of your stock ROM ).

Once it is done the next step is to install the custom kernel on your device. To do so, click the Install button and navigate to wherever you stored the Despair Factor kernel. Choose the kernel, and it will be installed successfully.

=> Once the kernel has been installed, the next step is to install SuperSU. Similar to the above procedure click on the install button and navigate to the location where you stored Super SU file.

If you have done everything properly then your phone should now boot into Android M with SuperSU installed and root access ready on your device.
